Sara Venkatesh comes to Stanford from the Institute for Advanced Study, where she was a member from 2018-2019. She received her PhD in the Spring of 2018 from Columbia University, advised by Mohammed Abouzaid.
Her research is largely supported by an NSF postdoctoral fellowship. In 2016 she was awarded the Graduate Student Teaching Award by the Columbia Mathematics Department. Her graduate studies were supported by an NSF graduate student fellowship from 2014-2017.
Her research interests lie in symplectic geometry and homological mirror symmetry. She also helps organize the department's Symplectic Geometry Seminar.
