We are happy to invite our graduates and their guests to the Mathematics diploma ceremony following the University’s ceremony. The diploma ceremony is held jointly with the Mathematical and Computational Science (MCS) Program and the Statistics department.

Mathematics Diploma Ceremony Information

Date and Time

Sunday, June 12, 2022

Reception starts at 11:30am

Ceremony starts at 12:30pm and ends at approximately 2:30pm

Location

The reception will take place in the grove between Building 380 and Sequoia Hall. The ceremony will take place in the grove between Sequoia Hall and Jane Stanford Way. Please see the labeled map

Arrival Time

We ask that students and their guests head to the diploma ceremony immediately following the main ceremony in the stadium that ends around 11:30am. There will be a reception with light refreshments available from 11:30am to 12:20pm. Please be seated at the ceremony site by 12:20pm and the ceremony will start at 12:30pm. 

Seating and Ticket Information

Tickets are not required, and there is no reserved seating for guests. There will be plenty of seating, however, guests may wish to arrive early for best seat selection. The majority of seating is in the shade.

Photography

There will be no professional photography at the event, but there will be a photography area to the left of the stage. We politely ask that you leave the photography area once your graduate has walked across the stage so that other guests may have the opportunity to take photos.

Information For Graduates

Attendance

All 2021/2022 graduates must complete our webform regardless of whether you intend to participate in the diploma ceremony or not. An email with the link to the webform has been sent out via email. Graduates from 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 who would like to participate in the ceremony must complete the webform as well. The link has been sent via email to those who let us know previously that they would like to attend.

Cap and Gown

You must wear a cap and gown to walk in the ceremony. You can rent or purchase regalia through the Stanford Bookstore. Please see this page for more information:

Seating for Graduating Students

All graduates will be seated alphabetically by program/degree in the section on the right side facing the stage. Upon arrival at the ceremony site, please look for the “RESERVED FOR GRADUATES” sign and locate your name. If you cannot find a chair with your name, find your student services officer immediately and let them know.
