Jared Duker Lichtman joined our department this academic year (2023-24) as a NSF Postdoctoral Fellow, working with Prof. Kannan Soundararajan, will be an incoming Szegő Assistant Professor (starting in 2024-25) within our department.

Jared completed his PhD at the University of Oxford in 2023 right before joining Stanford. He finds it irresistible how subtle patterns emerge from basic multiplication. In his research, he is interested in the prime numbers as well as related multiplicative structure, broadly interpreted. Recently, Jared can be credited with setting a new world record for the distribution of primes in arithmetic progressions.
