Submission to CA Math Framework Revision
Two Stanford Math faculty—Brian Conrad and Rafe Mazzeo—in collaboration with Patrick Callahan of Callahan Consulting have drafted recommendations on 12 key mathematical ideas that they and Stanford STEM colleagues with whom they consulted believe promote student success in introductory university courses in quantitative fields.
Their recommendations were drafted in September 2021. Professors Conrad and Mazzeo have shared a slightly streamlined version of their list, which they submitted to the “public comment” stage of the Summer/Fall 2021 revision of the California Mathematical Framework.
The opinions and views expressed in the document represent those of the authors and the Stanford colleagues with whom they consulted; Stanford, as an institution, does not take any position on this.
