Stanford Math Faculty Among Invited Speakers at International Congress of Mathematicians in 2026
Several members of the Department have been invited to speak at the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) to be held in July 2026 in Philadelphia. Ciprian Manolescu will give a plenary lecture, and sectional lectures will be given by Amol Aggarwal (Math. Physics/Probability), Otis Chodosh (Geometry/PDE), Sarah Peluse (Number Theory/Analysis/Combinatorics), Tadashi Tokieda (Math Education), and our future colleague Ziquan Zhuang (Algebraic & Complex Geometry). In addition, our colleague in CS Nima Anari will give a lecture in the Mathematics of CS section. Congratulations to all of them for this recognition of their work!
Many others with a Stanford connection have been invited to the ICM. These include (i) our former colleagues Simon Brendle and Horng-Tzer Yau (who will give plenary lectures), and Peter Sarnak (who will give a special plenary lecture), (ii) former postdoctoral researchers Sheel Ganatra, Maggie Miller, Jinyoung Park, and Andrew Snowden, and (iii) former graduate students Ailana Fraser, Sander Kupers, and Nike Sun.
