Stanford Math Alumnus, Grant Sanderson, to Receive Communications Award from AMS

Grant Sanderson ’15, a former math major in the department, will be receiving a Communications Award from the major American mathematical societies at the Joint Math Meetings in early January. This award recognizes his phenomenal contributions to math outreach with the public and to math education, particularly through his YouTube channel 3Blue1Brown that has more than 4.5 million subscribers. Every year, Stanford students across the introductory math courses praise 3Blue1Brown for the insight and understanding it provides.
