Sarah Peluse to give Maryam Mirzakhani Lecture in January 2026

Stanford Associate Professor Sarah Peluse, will be giving the Maryam Mirzakhani Lecture at the Joint Mathematics Meeting, next January in Washington D.C. Peluse's primary areas of interest include arithmetic combinatorics and analytic number theory.
Hosted by the American Mathematics Society, the lecture was established in 2018 to honor Maryam Mirzakhani (1977-2017), the first woman and Iranian to win a Fields Medal. Tenured at Stanford, Mirzakhani made significant and groundbreaking contributions to hyperbolic geometry, complex analysis, topology, and dynamics.
