Professor Emmanuel Candès Awarded 2026 Shaw Prize in the Mathematical Sciences
Stanford University Professor Emmanuel Candès, alongside Professor Camillo De Lellis (Institute for Advanced Study), have been awarded the 2026 Shaw Prize in Mathematical Sciences, for "their breakthrough contributions to the use of deep techniques from mathematical analysis to rigorously understand applied problems in information theory, signal processing and statistics on the one hand, and to the study of singularities in geometric measure theory and fluid dynamics on the other."
The Shaw Prize is an international award celebrating significant achievements, across various fields, that have made a broad impact for the betterment of society.
