Lernik Asserian and Sophie Libkind Awarded Dinkelspiel, Gores Awards

On Thursday, June 8, the Cuthbertson, Dinkelspiel and Gores Award Winners were announced. 

Lernik Asserian (Lecturer, Mathematics) won the Lloyd W. Dinkelspiel Award which is awarded to individuals for distinctive and exceptional contributions to undergarduate education. Asserian was awarded for her contribution to the department's coursework, specifically the creation of Math 18.

Sophie Libkind (PhD Student, Mathematics) was awarded the Walter J. Gores Award which is the highest award for excellence in teaching. In addition to her teaching abilities, Libkind was also recognized for her ability to simplify complex concepts and her creation of a 4-week intensive course for first year students: Introduction to Linear Algebra.
