Jinyoung Park and Maggie Miller Awarded 2023 Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize
Jinyoung Park, a Szegö Assistant Professor in the department, was awarded the Mirzakhani New Frontiers prize for her contributions to the resolution of several major conjectures on thresholds and selector processes.
Maggie Miller, Visiting Clay Researcher and Stanford Science Fellow, was awarded for work on fibered ribbon knots and surfaces in 4-dimensional manifolds.
Miller and Park were two of the three winners of the Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize for 2023.
The Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize is named after the famed Fields Medalist and Stanford Mathematics Professor Maryam Mirzakhani, who passed away in 2017.
