Abstract: In the first talk for the quarter on the theme of scattering theory, I will introduce the scattering calculus and state some workhorse results, providing little to no proofs. This will be a solid starting point for later talks to explore any number of potential topics. I will follow the notes of Andrew Hassell, Qiuye Jia, and Ethan Sussman from the 2025 workshop on Microlocal Analysis and Non-Elliptic Fredholm Theory at ANU.
