Abstract: Hyperbolic pde's arise frequently in physics. In this talk, I will describe some of the types of problems that arise in the study of hyperbolic pde's, with a particular focus on the Einstein equations and the compressible Euler equations. Examples of these problems include issues of well-posedness, stability/instability, and the study of singularities.
