Abstract: We discuss shock reflection problem for compressible gas dynamics,
and recent results on uniqueness and stability of regular reflection solutions
for potential flow equation in a natural class of self-similar solutions of regular
reflection structure. We also discuss some known instability and non-uniqueness results
for potential flow and compressible Euler system in wider classes of solutions, and open
problems in this area. This talk is based on joint works with G.-Q. Chen and W. Xiang.
