In honor of the life and work of Professor Yakov Eliashberg, a 4-day conference is scheduled in Asilomar, CA.
Eliashberg is a highly respected and influential mathematician in the field of symplectic geometry, being one of the key people to initiate the early research in the field. A keynote lecture, from Frederic Bourgeois (Universite Paris-Sud), and reception will take place at Stanford on August 19, 2018 to kick off the conference. The conference, August 20 – 24, will present 16 lectures. This is an opportunity for symplectic geometers from around the world (many of whom received their PhD under Eliashberg) to share their differing perspectives on the field.
