For Graduating Mathematics Majors

Attendance
All graduates (autumn, winter, spring) and “walks” (summer) must complete our webform regardless of whether you intend to participate in the Diploma Ceremony. You will receive an email with the webform in spring quarter.

Cap and Gown

You must wear a cap and gown to walk in the ceremony. Beginning March 12 you can order your cap and gown online via Stanford bookstore.

The deadline for ordering is Friday, April 30, 2018. Online orders and open-stock will be available from the Bookstore lower level on June 8. (Limited stock is available at the bookstore the day of graduation.) Please contact the Stanford Bookstore with any questions at (650) 329-1217, ext. 8329.

Seating for Graduating Students
All graduates will be seated alphabetically by program/degree in the section on the right side facing the stage. Upon arrival at the grove, please look for the “RESERVED FOR GRADUATES” sign and locate your name. If you cannot find a chair with your name, find your student services officer immediately and let her know.

For Guests

Photography
There will be no professional photography at the event, but there will be a photography area to the left of the stage. We politely ask that you leave the photography area once your graduate has walked across the stage so that other guests may have the opportunity to take photos.

Food
We highly recommend eating prior to the University ceremony and also bringing snacks to eat throughout the morning. The department will provide light refreshments before the diploma and awards ceremony. Food will be available to guests at 11:15 up until the start of the ceremony at 12:30pm.
